About Me

My name is Emily Lutringer. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in the US. I am certified as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I see individual adults, families, children, and adolescents for a variety of reasons. I specialize in working with children and teenagers.

For the past several years, I worked at a local behavioral health agency, bringing therapy to students and providing consultations and training to teachers and staff in all of Conejos County schools, from preschool through high-school.  Additionally, I worked with adults and families in the office setting. I recently decided that I wanted to start a private practice, so that I could better provide high-quality care to my clients.

My primary purpose is to provide a comfortable and safe counseling environment for each individual. I offer a wide of therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Based Therapy, Trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Humanistic counseling.

Together with the client, I custom tailor a unique plan designed for the client’s specific strengths and needs.

Masters (MA) in Clinical Counseling from Adams State University
Bachelors (BA) in Cultural Sustainability (Self-designed major featuring a mixture of anthropology, psychology, religious studies, agriculture and horticulture, environmental studies, and sustainable construction) from Naropa University
Currently enrolled in PhD program in International Psychology, Trauma Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
